D= Dean J= Julie S= Store Employee D: Candy! We should get a bag of this! J: Now Dean, we have a very limited snack budget for this party. Only buy what’s on the list. D: Fine. What did you write down? J: (Taking out the list) We’re going to have a cheese platter, and some veggies and dip. D: So, we need to head to the dairy section for cheese and the produce section for the vegetables. J: We also need chips and soda. D: What about cookies? Those are at the bakery. (Looking at her list) We’re going to be here forever. Why don’t we split up the items and meet at the checkout? J: (Doubtful) Are you sure you can stick to the list? D: Of course! (He tears the list in two, handing one half back to Julie.) You take that, and I’ll take a basket and go get these. See ya! J: (Later, Julie is walking down an aisle.) Paper plates, paper plates . . . where are they? S: Can I help you find something? J: Yeah, I’m looking for paper plates and plastic cups. S: The plates and cups are both on aisle three. Plastic cups are forty percent off today. J: Great! I’ll definitely take advantage of that discount.
